What is SMI to SRT Subtitle Converter?
SAMI (.smi) was a proprietary Microsoft multimedia caption format historically popular in Korea and Asia, while SubRip (.srt) is the modern universal subtitle format supported across YouTube, Netflix, VLC, and smart TVs.
This tool converts SAMI `<SYNC Start=...>` millisecond timestamps and `<P Class=...>` markup into sequential numbered SRT subtitle blocks with standard `HH:MM:SS,mmm --> HH:MM:SS,mmm` timecodes.
It automatically strips legacy HTML markup, font tags, and non-breaking spaces while estimating realistic subtitle end timestamps if missing.
